Butlin's AYR

Butlin's AYR began its journey during World War Two when Billy Butlin was tasked with overseeing the construction of two sites to aid the war effort. After the war concluded, the camp was renamed to Butlins, where it continued to operate until 1998. In 1999, it was rebranded as Haven, which was a sister company at that time. As of 2025, Haven is no longer affiliated with the parent company Butlin's.

Butlin's Bognor Regis

As of 2025, Butlin's Bognor Regis still stands and is the only site to present a new version of this renowned fountain. However, the fountain in question is not the original one, which is situated within the swimming pool. The fountains that existed on the premises since construction were removed long ago.

Butlin's Bahamas

One of the two sites located outside the United Kingdom, this story transformed the operational approach of Butlins UK. The establishment of Butlins in the Bahamas also included the renowned Butlins Fountain. Although none of the original Butlins fountains exist today, a new holiday company is currently in operation there.

Butlin's Clacton

Butlins Clacton started its story in 1938 when it opened its gates for the first time to welcome campers. As with Butlins Skegness, Billy Butlin would insist that his new camp would also feature the famous Butlin's fountain. Sadly, Butlins Clacton closed down in 1983, and nothing of the camp remained.

Butlin's Filey

Butlin's Filey was the third resort to launch under the leadership of Billy Butlin and was also designed to include the Butlins fountains. Currently, none of the original Butlins fountains are still in existence; however, a significant portion of Haven continues to operate from that site.

Butlin's Mosney

One of the two locations situated outside the United Kingdom, Butlins Mosney, remains in its original position following its closure. Based on my observations through Google Earth, the original fountains are no longer present on the premises and were taken down some time ago.

Butlin's Minehead's still stands and no longer features the fountains that were constructed near the former outside swimming pool, which is also removed.

Butlin's Skegness

Butlins Skegness is the location where it all started and where the first holiday camp fountain would appear. Today (as of 2025), the camp is now known as a resort and continues to present the Butlins logo name; however, the original fountains were removed some time ago.

The Butlins Memorabilia website was originally established as a place on the internet where people could view Mark Banks' Butlins collections. As a passionate enthusiast of the brand, Mark took the initiative to explore the extensive history that led to the website's transformation. Now, the Butlins Memorabilia site has matured into a historical education platform, demonstrating to visitors the meaningful ways in which Butlins has fostered joy and created unforgettable memories.

Are you the official Butlins Archive?
There exists only ONE official website that represents Butlins and that is located at www.butlins.com. The Butlins Memorabilia website is NOT the official archive of Butlins, nor does it serve as the authentic historical record of this extraordinary company. Butlins and their respective parent company have no role in the development of this site and have not participated in its creation. The singular official source for all Butlins information is the one indicated above. This site is strictly a fan-created platform, and any material presented here should be viewed as unofficial. Butlins and their esteemed parent company have NOT reached out to me to create this site, nor have they requested me to promote them.
